Frequently asked questions about a nanny resume

Do nannies need a certification?

States do not regulate education requirements for nannies, but CPR and first aid certification and a childcare credential make you a stronger candidate.

What childcare credentials are common?

Some states and employers require childcare workers to have a nationally recognized credential, most often the Child Development Associate (CDA), which is renewed every 3 years.

How do I list private families on my resume?

Use “Private family” and the city instead of names, with the children's ages, dates and your tasks.
